Methadone

Why do you have to make this so hard?
I'm on a methadone, trying to bear myself alone, and all the space therein.
You're like my heroin, I can feel you beneath my skin, and behind my eyes.
Why do you have to make this so hard?
How am I supposed to trust the guy who fucked it up so bad for so long?
I know it's hard to believe I'm true, but I've told you before that you are the only one I love.
I'm going to trust you on this one, because I can't leave myself behind.
I'm going to trust you on this one, because I can't trust myself in hindsight.

Glass Spider
07:02
|
|||
we climbed to the mountain top
to see the man on the moon and the stars fall
in the winter before it all
the songs were planted deep in our souls
and the seasons change
in the world on the living
and that summer bore the fruit
that would make life worth living
but winter lingers on
in the dusty green glass in the windows of the pawn shops
and I'd try to dust it off
but the dim fog and candlelight
are powers beyond my might
I sing abalone and sunshine
but clouds are gaining
and the fields in the west are gonna have a hard time
but we sowed in the summer heat
and we prayed for rain through sweat and dirt in the humidity
the the glass spider saw it all
like a fogged mirror of what's to come
as we cleaned out that broken down shed
weapons haunted by the lives their ammunition took
and the glass spider shows it all
like a thousand mirrors in a hall
so we smoked in the desert air till it blocked out the sun
telling tales of wars already won
and it's true what they say as your life moves on
that it all comes back to a single one
to the glass spider in the shed
to the glass spider in the shed
to the glass spider in my head

I hope this whiskey can wash
wash down this lump in my throat
I hope this whiskey can wash
wash down what water wont
when I see you tonight
I'll have star-crossed eyes
I'll have stars in my eyes
just like every time
I hope this whiskey can wash
wash down a life of hurt
because if you keep it comin' little bird
I'll play rock and roll forever

Hey (featuring Nizh)
02:34
|
|||
hey
I just want to hear you talk
so spin me a line
I don't care if you lie
hey
tell me what's on your mind
and take your time
because you're always on mine
hey
I like the sound of your voice
and when I look in your eyes
everything is all right
